Week 2 And Maybe The Best Video I Could Have Watched Today

Week 1 In the books. I gotta say, that week really didn't feel like much training. I get that it was supposed to be a de-load and this builds into 2 hellish weeks but definitely wanted to go harder! As for week 2, started off very well. Decent weights moving with good volume and honestly, feeling more hungry every day for heavy lifting. The first part of this training cycle is definitely doing one thing; Making me desire to lift HEAVY! With that though, I just watched a YouTube video that spoke true volumes to me. I usually look around for training videos, technique videos, or just entertainment. This video in particular is THE Donny Shankle being interviewed about his take on Weightlifting, PR's, goals, life objective, and of course his training with Uncle Ivan. This video has inspired me to keep a consistent mindset in all aspects of life and it couldn't be more appropriate.

In that respect, I'll be training and posting. Continuing on this journey of strength.

Day 2 HF Model

Day two has come and gone.

Not gonna lie, hard to see the work input with these last few workouts. The volume is low as well as intensity so I guess I'll just have a bit of faith.

Today was all Hang-Power positions for doubles. Both lifts felt fast on the pull but a bit slower on the turn-over. Might have to do with the shoulder but we'll see. More to post at the end of the week. Stay Strong!

Day 1: MSU Hormonal Fluctuation Research Model

Today marks day 1 of my new 6-week training template. Not until 2 weeks in will I start to lean out for the pending meet in Kirkwood, MO. Shoulders and hip feel pretty good considering last week how much pain I was in.

Nutritionally, I won't be changing much. I have been intaking around 215g of protein daily for a while now between meats, eggs, and my post-workout shake. As far as carbohydrates go, WOD days are around 150-175g, non-WOD days are usually around 75g. Content is way more important to me that quantity of the food I eat.

Today's training is all POWER. Power snatch, Power clean, push-jerks, back squats, and abdominal work. As far as intensity goes, its low. Roughly 60% of my max on the lifts or less. My main focus today is establishing a well orchestrated warm-up to keep my shoulders and hip loose. After that, one lift at a time.

Possibly a reflection post to come. Stay strong!

First Post!

Hello! Don't know who will read this or pay attention to this blog, but its more for myself and anyone who wants an insight into various training methods for Olympic lifting.

As of today, I'm coming off of 2-a-day training (2 days on/1 day off) and had decent results. Clean and Jerks feel really good, snatches not so much. Right and left shoulder have been a bit achy internally so been taking recovery methods for that to ensure I can continue to train.

Monday, I begin training the MSU 6-week cycle so I can peak for my first meet of the year in St. Louis, MO. This training template is designed to peak testosterone and strength gains over 6 weeks and was partly written by the man himself, Glenn Pendelay.

More posts to come.

Stay strong!
